Lawrence R. Nicholson, CRE, MAI is the managing member of The Nicholson Group. The combination of the CRE and MAI designations is quite unique; in fact, there are only three practicing MAIs in the State of Wisconsin that also hold the CRE designation. Obtaining the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute means that an appraiser has been elevated into the upper echelon of valuation experts. This designation has long been recognized by courts of law, governmental agencies, financial institutions and investors as a mark of excellence in the field of real estate valuation and analysis. The CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) is the designation of The Counselors of Real Estate, an international group of high profile real estate practitioners who provide expert advisory services to clients on complex real property and land-related matters. Membership is extended by invitation only after serious consideration of one's character, experience, proven competence, judgment, integrity and activity in the practice of real estate.
